SPX 0DTE Day Trading Strategy

The complete strategy for day trading SPX 0DTE options using AlgoEdge alerts.

The 6-Step Checklist

Step 1: Identify Large Trades

Look for SPX 0DTE alerts with:

  • Size: >1,000 contracts
  • Value: >$250K
  • Single-sided: Calls OR puts only (not both - paired = hedge)

Step 2: Check Market Context

Verify with price action:

  • SPX has moved 1%+ today
  • Trend is clear (not choppy)
  • Volume is above average

Step 3: Look for Far OTM Strikes

Best strikes are:

  • 5-10% from current price
  • Low premium ($0.50-$3.00)
  • High potential leverage

Step 4: Wait for Repeat Signals

Higher confidence with:

  • Multiple same-direction alerts
  • 5+ minutes of continuous flow
  • Increasing size on each alert

Step 5: Execute Quickly

Act within 5-10 minutes:

  • Enter via your broker
  • Set 20% stop-loss
  • Target 50-100% gains

Step 6: Manage the Trade

As it moves:

  • Take 50% profit quickly
  • Let runner ride to target
  • Exit 1-2 hours before close
