Pulse Gravity Path
Gravity Path is a Pulse overlay that projects a forward dealer-gravity arc from the current price toward the GEX anchor (king node). It uses the same live gamma snapshot as GEX and Charm Drift, but renders into future whitespace on the chart so you can see where dealer positioning suggests price may gravitate through the rest of the session (or multi-day window).
Important: Gravity Path is a contextual gravity estimate - not a trade signal. Use it with structure from Dealer Edge, not as a standalone entry trigger.
Where to turn it on
- Open Pulse (
/pulse) and load your symbol. - Open Modes on the toolbar.
- Toggle Gravity Path on (same menu as GEX, Charm Drift, Net Flow).
When Gravity Path is on, two pill rows appear under the toggle:
| Control | Options | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Window | 1D, 2D, 3D | How far forward the arc projects (RTH-scaled bar count, through that session's 4:00 PM ET close) |
| Expiration lens | Front, F+2, F+3 | Which expiries feed the anchor and path (front expiry only vs front + next two / three) |
Your choices persist in Pulse overlay prefs (web and mobile stay in sync).
Recommended starting setup
| Setting | Start here | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Window | 1D | Same-session read for intraday structure |
| Expiration lens | Front | Cleanest 0DTE / front-week magnet for day trades |
| Timeframe | 5m | Matches the Charm + Pulse workflow baseline |
| Companion overlays | GEX + Charm Drift | Levels on chart + time-decay context before trusting the arc |
Move to 2D or 3D when you want a swing-style horizon (through tomorrow or day-after close). Use F+2 or F+3 when front expiry is thin and you want the path to reflect the next monthly / weekly stack.
What you see on the chart
Gravity Path draws into the right-side forward zone (about 25% of the visible window). The chart shifts so candles stay readable and the arc has room to breathe.
| Element | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Vertical "now" line | Last completed / forming bar - everything to the right is projection |
| Cyan arc | Smooth path from spot through defense strikes toward the anchor |
| Soft shaded band | Upper and lower bounds from the strongest gamma strikes above/below spot in your expiration lens |
| Target dot | Path endpoint at the anchor price |
Pill labels ($612 · 18.2%) | Strike price + share of total |gamma| in the lens - brighter pill = anchor target |
| Footer chip (below chart) | Active config summary, e.g. 2D · front + 2 · through Wed 4:00 PM ET · 5m checkpoints |
The arc is built from:
- Spot (current price)
- Defense lines between spot and anchor (from aggregated gamma)
- Anchor (strongest |gamma| strike in the lens)
- A subtle charm tilt toward the strongest |charm| strike in the lens (blended toward the end of the path - on by default in the engine)
How to read it (60-second template)
Say this after your normal GEX + Charm read from Dealer Edge:
Spot is [above/below] Anchor [X]. Gravity Path arcs [up/down] toward [X]
through [1D/2D/3D window], using [Front / F+2 / F+3] gamma.
The wedge bands sit between [lower] and [upper]. Path [agrees / conflicts]
with Charm Drift at [Z]. I treat the arc as context, not a forecast -
I still need price to respect structure before sizing.
Bullish pinning context
- Spot below anchor, path curves up toward anchor
- GEX Rating 4-5, price above Flip
- Charm Drift below spot or aligned toward anchor
- Path band is tight - pin-friendly day
Use: Pullbacks toward defense / lower wedge band with anchor as magnet - not random mid-range chase.
Volatile / breakdown context
- Spot above anchor, path curves down
- GEX Rating 1-2, price below Flip
- Path band is wide or spot already outside the wedge
- Arc conflicts with Charm Drift
Use: Reduce size, shorter holds, do not treat the arc as a slow pin target.
When the arc looks flat
If spot is almost on top of the anchor, you may see a dashed forward guide instead of a steep arc - dealers are already at the magnet. Switch to GEX lines and Charm Drift for nuance; Gravity Path adds less value until spot separates from anchor again.
Settings deep dive
Window (1D / 2D / 3D)
| Window | Projects through | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 1D | Today's 4:00 PM ET close | 0DTE / intraday pinning and fades |
| 2D | Next session 4:00 PM ET | Overnight hold + next-day magnet |
| 3D | Second forward session close | Short swing context (still not a multi-week forecast) |
Forward bar count scales with your timeframe (more bars on 1m, fewer on 1H). The footer chip shows the through-time in ET.
Expiration lens (Front / F+2 / F+3)
| Lens | Aggregates | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Front | Nearest expiry only | 0DTE, same-day pin, clearest single magnet |
| F+2 (front + 2) | Front three expiries | Weekly + front month blend |
| F+3 (front + 3) | Front four expiries | When monthly structure matters more than 0DTE noise |
The anchor, defense lines, wedge bounds, and pill percentages all recompute from the selected lens. If Front flickers on a name with heavy back-month gamma, try F+2.
Equities vs futures
| Symbol type | Gravity Path |
|---|---|
| Equities / index underlyings (SPY, QQQ, AAPL, SPX where available) | Full gamma from Dealer Edge snapshot |
| Futures roots with projection | ES, MES → SPX gamma projected onto futures price; NQ, MNQ → NDX; RTY → RUT; YM → DJX (strike scale adjusted) |
| Other futures | Gravity Path hidden (no projected gamma spec) |
Futures projection uses the same basis math as Futures Echo Map - index levels shifted onto the futures axis. Turn Auto: Live on for the freshest basis on forming bars.
Equity-only overlays (Net Flow, Dark Pool, full Charm shelf) may still be hidden on futures roots; Gravity Path is the dealer-context exception where projection exists.
Setup checklist
- Complete Dealer Edge GEX + Charm lens for the symbol.
- Open Pulse, same symbol, 5m, RTH, Auto: Live.
- Modes → GEX + Charm Drift on (equities).
- Modes → Gravity Path on → pick 1D + Front to start.
- Confirm footer chip window matches your intent.
- Read arc direction vs Anchor and Flip before adding Net Flow or Dark Pool as filters.
Common mistakes
| Mistake | Fix |
|---|---|
| Treating the arc as a guaranteed target | Use as context with GEX Rating, Flip, and Charm agreement |
| 3D + F+3 on a 0DTE scalp | Over-smooths - drop to 1D + Front |
| Gravity Path without GEX on | Turn GEX on so levels and arc share one snapshot |
| Ignoring the footer chip | Chip confirms window, lens, and through-time - read it every toggle |
| Expecting Gravity Path on CL / GC / ZN | No projection spec - use Echo Map instead |
